Formula 1 Zandvoort

The Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix takes place on the Circuit Zandvoort race track. Visitors and personnel are not allowed to come to the beach via the sea. Zandvoort Municipality has prohibited that. You can only take people to the beach this way if you have a permit. The same applies to picking up people.

Municipal regulations

The municipality of Zandvoort has authority over the seaward area up to 1 kilometre from the shore. Ship and boat owners must therefore comply with Zandvoort municipal regulations during the Formula One Grand Prix. The rules of the Central Nautical Management North Sea Canal Area (CNB) also apply in the same area. During the event, the Coastguard liaises with both organisations, because it is responsible for search and rescue operations in this area.

Amsterdam-IJmond Government Harbour Master

The Amsterdam-IJmond Government Harbour Master (CNB) is the competent authority. This means that authorisations/decisions can only be taken by the government harbour master and not by the director of the Coastguard. The CNB can be reached at cnb@portofamsterdam.com.
