Coastguard (KWNL) treats your privacy with care and works in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We treat personal data confidentially and use it only for the purpose for which we collect it. We only do so with your consent. What is personal data?
Personal data is information that is traceable back to an individual. Examples of personal data are your name, home address, personal e-mail address and citizen service number.
Storage and processing of personal data
We store your personal data on kustwacht.nl for the following two purposes: to contact you, and to personalise our response. Complaints form: name, telephone number, e-mail address, complaint We forward your details – your name, telephone number, e-mail address and complaint – to the complaint coordinators. This personal data is stored for a standard period of 10 years after the date on which the handling of the complaint is completed. If the complaint leads to a follow-up investigation, the personal data will be stored in accordance with the Public Records Act. This personal data is stored for a standard period of 5 years after date on which the handling of the question is completed. We will not offer you any unsolicited information and/or services
As the data subject, you have the right to inspection, rectification, destruction, and to be forgotten. In addition, you can object to the processing of your personal data. To do so, or to pose questions in this regard, you can contact the GDPR coordinator of KWNL via privacy@kustwacht.nl. If you are of the opinion that your request or question is not being handled properly, you can contact the Data Protection Officer of the Ministry of Defence via functionaris.gegevensbescherming@mindef.nl.
