Where to register your vessel’s movements through the Gulf of Aden

When passing through the Gulf of Aden, shipowners are advised to :

• Notify the Maritime Security Centre – Horn of Africa (MSCHOA) via www.mschoa.org
• Notify the United Kingdom Marine Trade Operations (UKMTO) via www.ukmto.org (see also BMP version 5). 
• Send a copy of the notification form to the Coastguard at mik-nl@kustwacht.nl.

European Union mission

Operation Atalanta is a European Union (EU) mission to contribute to the deterrence, prevention and repression of acts of piracy and armed robbery off the Somali coast. The EU has set up the website www.mschoa.org, which provides a lot of information, recommendations and other details on piracy around the Horn of Africa.

The website also provides forms for registering vessel movements and for reporting incidents in the Gulf of Aden. The forms can be found in the registered users area of the website.
